Shopian---in continuation

Image
Life remained crippled for sixth consecutive day in Srinagar. The outrage against the alleged rape and murder of a teenaged girl and her pregnant sister-in-law in Shopian intensified all over the valley. Its been a week now the deteriorating situation in the Valley is going on with no halt.My last blog was on Tuesday, and till today there are only protests going on with no outcommings from government, people all around are coercing and beseeching for the troopers to arrest. YESTERDAY IN VALLEY:- Shopian, June 5:- At least 50 civilians were injured when police and CRPF men unleashed brute force- firing bullets and tear gas shells- on peaceful protesters in Shopian district Friday. The people were protesting against the rape and murder of a teenager and her sister-in-law, allegedly by troops. Reports said a huge procession comprising people from Vehil, Meemander, Shirmal, Narwaw, Tukroo, Gagren, Palpora, Dangam, Wangam and Kachdoora was on its way to Shopian town in the afternoon when they ...

PART -III

Apparently it seems that troopers are involved in this heinous act. Asking a police officer to head the Special Investigation Team doesn’t make any sense. Doctors who conducted the post mortem had categorically said that Neelofar and her sister-in-law, Asiya, were gang raped before being murdered brutally,” Government is “trying to hush up the case.” “Yesterday divisional commissioner and inspector general of police presented the facts in such a way as if nothing had happened,” he added. Geelani said that Asiya(VICTIM), had spoken to her brother, Shakeel on phone at 6.45 pm on Friday when they were on way to home. “They had informed him that some troopers were teasing them. When Shakeel called them at 7.00 pm they didn’t pick up the phone which means that the incident has occurred between 6.45 and 7.00 pm,” he said. “This is a shocking and a dastardly act. The chastity of our women and daughters is being outraged. It is an assault on our customs and values and we won’t sit silent. Viol...

SHOPIAN SIMMERS

Image
This post is in continuation of my yesterdays post"Another balling over scene" We were on strike ,in fact some of the areas were under watch and there was no plying of vehicles, every thing was being obtuse, day was full of moaning all around the valley. It was really horrible strike,i just went out my home some 1km,there i could find clean roads but full of stones, tear gas cans all way scattered, tyres being burnt on the middle of road.People shouting and police after them to disperse the big crowd. So today's sum is some how like this:- The outrage against the death of two young women after their alleged rape by armed troopers Sunday intensified in this south Kashmir town as hundreds of people took to streets for the second consecutive day to stage protests defying an undeclared curfew. Police lobbed scores of teargas shells to quell the protests and even assaulted mourners, injuring more than 40 of them. At Bonagam chowk near the residence of the deceased women, protester...
